After being offered a solo exhibition at St. John’s University in New York, Wu decided to study at the Art Student’s League before moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1975.
He quickly became a popular watercolor instructor, giving lessons through his home studio and also at the Hunter Museum of American Art. In 1982, he became an active member of the prestigious American Watercolor Society, and is also listed in Who’s Who in American Art. He has participated in more than 15 one man shows throughout the United States, including the Butler Institute of American Art in Ohio, the National Academy Galleries in New York, and several throughout Taiwan, China and Singapore. In 2000, the artist moved his home and studio to the central coast of California where he is still creating.
