Robert Calcagno

Born in New York, Calcagno received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History with a minor in Political Science.  Having been a successful litigator in Atlanta for over 29 years, he consistently painted, and after retiring in 2004, he concentrated full time on painting in oil.   Inspired by the great masters, his impressionistic style highlights the influences of Paris and Provence that inspire his work.

In April 2022, Calcagno was the only American invited by La Galerie de Paris, to participate in an exposition at the Louvre (a la Pyramide du Louvre).

Known for his professional reputation in the Bordeaux region of France, Calcagno was recently chosen as the only American jurist in Couleurs-d-Aquitaine, an exposition that will be shown in 22 communities of the southwest part of France, known as the Aquitaine. He was also selected as one of only seven American artists to participate in an exposition in Paris entitled Paris Welcomes American Artists.

Calcagno now splits his time between his studios in the mountains of Georgia and Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, France.  Calcagno creates most of his paintings in large canvas form among a setting that enables him to convey the mystery of nature and life.
